    The first overwhelms the latter in numbers, a clear picture of the political situation in this country. Whats happening is Gaza is more of a Regional issue than religious, Israel is occupying the Palestiean land against all international law, Its more of a humanitarian crisis. Yet in India this is treated nothing more than a religious persecution involving Jews and Arabs. Well Its no wonder , if you understand the state our country has reached. But to realize that an secular Nation that once fight against the british empire by ideology rather than arms is now lacking even humanitarian concerns is shocking. The question needed to be raised is , How did we all reach here!!

Thus 2+2 = 3 Nations came into Existence

    When Britian left in 1948 from Mandate palestinian land, the jews and arabs were already prepared for the forthcomming war. The war did came and Arab alliance attacked the Israel, but the fierce Israel didn't fall, instaead it captured more land making some 700,000 palestinenians refugees. In that time India still has not celebrated its first year of independence. Yet It has seen its fair share of bloodbath created due to the partition of India and Pakistan-after effect of British colonization. The partition caused the largest migration crisis in the world which affected about 10 million people. Prior to partition various conflicts emerge in various parts of the nation resulting in killing of each other. If some british at the moment is being proud of their great history kindly try to study this part of the history also, caution- contain hard to accept attrocities.

    In the case of india it will be incorrect to say the division was created by British alone , They just flared up the communal division already existed in the country to their advantage. British needed to do so in order to stop the nation from uniting which was of paramount importance to them, inorder to continue governng india. In  time country found its way back to unity and continued struggle against Britian . By the time India was likely to gain independence the formula of 2 states became more likely, the option of unified nation was somewhwere lost. There were various reasons for paskitan demand, most were political reason. But the root cause was that they never thought it was possible for the two communities to live in harmony without one dominating the another. They never could dream of a nation where people are not identified as a mussilman, Hindu or Christian.

The Begining of all the conflcits

In British Mandate palestine in 1917 a public pludge- Balfour declaration was done by Britian which aims to establsih a national home for jewish people in Palestine. Between 1917 & 1948 jews from all over the world in the dream of promised land migrated from europe. The anti-semetic persecution and holocaust in Germany and the promise by Britian was the major reason for this migration. The zionism ideology has gained large popularity among the Jews during the early 20th century, Zionism is an ideology which consider Judaism serving as both Nationality and religion.  The jews were coming to israel to have a nation for them alone , it means they arrived there as zionist. The increasing number of zionist worried the arabs and by the time Britian was leaving the British mandate Palestine which was previously part of the ottoman empire was divided between Israel and Palestine. This started the unended conflict between the ideologies of zionist and Arabs. Both Arabs and zionists need the same piece of land and they were not happy about sharing it.

The palestine war of 1948 by Arab alliance on Israel end up with israel occupying reamining of the Palestine except for Gaza strip which is controlled by Egypt and Westbank controlled by Jordan. Not only the dream of capturing the whole palestine to themself were shattered for Palestinians , they lost what they had. They became refugees. In 1967 june in 6 days way Israel comes out with another magnificient victory. The premptive strike on the egyptian airbase and with With Israel air superiority israel captured the rest,also portions of Egypt and syria. Since then once british mandate palestine is under the control of Israel . Palestineans continued their fight, PLO came tried peace treaties then there were uprisings (intifada), terrorism, then came Hamas. Theree seems to be no ending for it now. The peace talks didnt work out because no one needed the part of land alone they wanted the full land to themself , Jerusalem is always a tough hurdle for both people has sentiments attached to the holy land.

In the Right Direction

India on other hands has come out of the period of communal vioilences in flying colours. It not only been able to establish a secular nation but was also able to inspire people to think in a secular way . India was able to avoid religion from politics to a great extent for a long time. Muhammed Ali Jinnah once said in the Muslim league session in Lahore on 22nd March 1940 , To quote him

"It is a dream that the Hindus and Muslims can ever evolve a common nationality, and this misconception of the Indian nation has gone far beyond the limits and is the cause of most of our troubles and will lead India to desrtruction if we fail lto revise our notions in time"

This dreams that once jinnah said to be not possible, India as a united nation did pull it off. The nation inspired people to believe that there is Unity in diversity. The People did came out of the darkness of Religon through education into an era of reasoning. Science did flourish, children dreams of becoming an astronemer or nuclear scientist. Politics discussions avoid the caste and religion conflict atleast publicly for some time. India was indeed coming out of dark cold era. No one would have thought so considering the condition the country was during the British era.

Happiness is momentary 

Then it starts going back, Generation of people obsessed with ancient customs, religion, vedas and all religious activities alone came to power. In no time the right wing hindu nationalist party came into power. It didnot happen in one day, The system was indeed deteroiating at some levels. The country lost its will of fire to move on . There were elements like some institutions like RSS working at various levels to instigate this division. In the blink of eye the whole political seems to change. People no longer debate on development , educational schemes. They are only talking about how amother religion is trying to  dominate theirs. The lives of cows become more valuable than human lifes . The minority starts to feel unsafe in their own country. Recently one state in this very secular country brought a rule that prevents interreligion marriage indirectly. The truth is that all that rule does is  arrest muslim Boys. India is once again in the darkness, it seesm like for a while we step outside that vicious circle and now we are back in it. The age of reason has come to an end in India. It is sad to see the country went into that stage even after all the work this Nation has did to prevent it, But it is even more sad to find the Nation showed least resistance. It is hard to believe that there are not enough educated people in this country to form a resistance or did our education system just created educated morons!!

Back in Real time

The recent activites In Jerusalem were a part of long term plan of Israel capturing the reamaining land, there is no need of actually capturing it for they are already under the Israel military force but they plan of increasing Isarel settlement and evicting the Palestinians from their homes. For the past week all the missles and rockets were caused due to the israels action to evict the Palestinians from East jerusalem. How many have died for this holy land of all the abrahimic religion. She has seen millions dying for her, Crusaders, Arabs, Jews. You cant let her gates be open for some army is alwasy at her doorsteps. Oh Jerusalem, What have you done! Hamas has fired rockets towards Israel and iron dome has Guarded her but some managed to find it s way through. Israel didnot wait for anyones approval, it showed full agression towards Gaza. Israel missiles from air force and militiary reached the target. Gaza was filled with debris and from that debris screams of children, people are heard. There is no iron dome for protecting the lifes of the Palestinians , they are terrified and the only thing they an do is scream , begging for the lives of their children but israel was open to no pleas not even the terrifiying pictures of the war side could make her step back. The fighting is still going on.

The international community is calling for a ceasefire. All human rights organization is calling the for the Israel to backdown. It is not even right to describe whats happening in Gaza as a conflict .its a Genocide . The Isarel with its might is causing terror in Gaza , kiliing Hundreds including children. They have muscle power and a very strong ally to commit the crimes and the UN's voice silenced to the extent of not even being able to contempt the actions of Israel. The Government of India spoke in support of Palestine in Security Council which should be highly appreciated. Our country has always stand with the opressed.The Indian governments opinion came after the various hard right wing people came in support of Isareal. That must have changed the attitude of many people. But the reason they in the first place opted for in support of Israel is showing that they are having a sense of natonality in favour of religion. Most of them are using the cloack of nationality into emphassesing their opinion. It is signs of forming a sense of Hindu Nationality in many peoples mind.

The Need of the hour

Mps and MLAs are no longer afraid to go public against secular values, one reason is the support the national medias giving to the ruling part. Other reason is definetly the public support such statements are getting. The politics is only as good as the people itself . Ismalphobia is preached in social medias and public spaces. The two opinions on Israel and Palestine is just glimpses of the division in this country. When Islamaphobia seems to gripping on one hand the minority is putting themself into forming an union among themselves alone. Instead of amassing mass support from secular minded people a union among one reliigon alone will not solve the problem. Whats needed is social revolution just like what we had in the period of struggle for independence. Leaders capable of influencing the society in a positive manner needs to come out. This society needs guidance out of darkness.The country that has faced the Empire where sun never sets needs to come out. India needs to change. Eventhough government is restricting the freedom of expression at different levels,the silenced needs to speak. This is the need of hour, the superstitions need to be left behing. People need to free themselves from the chains of religion and communal spirits. We are one Nation unifed by an ideology of compassion and a will to move on. Never loose those values and we will come out of this short era of darkness into a brighter future.
